4,000 CCTVs to scan Guwahati 24X7

GUWAHATI, July 21: With a view to boosting security and surveillance mechanism in and around Guwahati, the State Government has approved installation of 4,000 CCTV cameras to monitor the pulse of the city round the clock. Of the 4,000 cameras, around 800 would be dedicated for monitoring vehicular traffic, especially road mishaps and hit-and-run cases. Further, the installation process of the CCTV cameras would be done under the supervision of Assam Police as it is directly related to safety and security of citizens.
