42nd Karbi Youth Festival gets off to a glittering start

DIPHU, February 16: The 42nd Karbi Youth Festival under the aegis of Karbi Cultural Society (KCS) got under way with a four-day long programme at Taralangso near Diphu in Karbi Anglong on Tuesday.
The programme was attended by Tuliram Ronghang, Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC). On the opening day programme, Chandra Sing Kro hoisted the KCS flag and a cultural procession from the artist village was also taken out.
The organizer informed that from today onwards different cultural programmes would be showcased on the Sinmirjeng and Longmirjeng open stage at Taralangso during the four-day long youth festival celebration. The youth festival at Taralangso will reverberate with drum sounds and other ethnic musical instruments during the four days. Different ethnic villages, ethnic food stalls and exhibitions have been set up at Taralangso.
