TAMULPUR, March 23: A 43-year-old woman committed suicide by hanging herself on Sunday evening at Charivella village under grijuli police outpost in Baksa district. A case was registered at grijuli police outpost here. Police said what forced the woman to opt for extreme step remains unclear as no suicide note has been recovered from the spot. The woman, Sushila Hasda, was the wife of Ishwar Mardi. The incident took place between 6 pm to 8 pm when the woman was alone at home. Police said the woman committed suicide in a room of the house. She put a chair on the bed and hanged self from the ceiling fan. The incident came to light when her family members returned around 8 pm. The reason remains a mystery to the police. Police have started investigation into the case and sent the body of the woman to lbari Civil Hospital for autopsy.
