49th annual conference of Bodo Sahitya Sabha concludes

TANGLA, Jan 12: The 49th annual conference of Udalguri district committee, Bodo Sahitya Sabha (BSS) concluded here at Barlampha Harimu ground, Panery in Udalguri on Friday. The two-day event organized by Panery Primary unit BSS witnessed various colorful programmes. The open session presided over by BSS Udalguri President, Kameswar Boro was iugurated by former MLA of Mazbat, Rakheswar Brahma. The session was graced as chief guest by President of Bodo Sahitya Sabha, Torren Boro. Speaking on the ocassion he said, “In today’s age of globalization and scientific advancement, the Bodos are made to struggle for establishment of their language in world platform.” He further said, “The government has been delaying the issue of establishment of special directorate for Bodo medium education.” The sports persolities of the district who had acclaimed tiol and intertiol recognition including  Boxer Jamu Boro, Archer Pramila Daimary along with a few meritorious students were also feted on the ocassion.
