49th Varsity Week of Dibrugarh University

Dibrugarh, March 13: The 49th Varsity Week of Dibrugarh University (DU), ‘Udyam 2018’ that began on March 9 entered into its fourth day on Monday. Earlier, the Vice chancellor of DU, Professor Alak Kumar Buragohain iugurated the iugural ceremony while General Secretary of All Assam Student Union (AASU), Lurinjyoti Gogoi graced the event as its chief guest. In his iugural speech, Professor Buragohain said that DU authorities will always encourage students’ holistic development by giving due importance to sports and cultural activities, besides improving the academic atmosphere in the university. He mentioned the week as energetic week of DU students. He also said that henceforth, the Old Playground of DU will be known as Swahid Khargeswar Talukdar Playground.  Later, the University Anthem was performed by University Students which was followed by the General Secretary of DUPGSU, Devid Hazarika delivering the welcome address. DU flag hoisting ceremony, oath taking ceremony and colourful dance programmes were also held.
