5.5 kg of ganja seized by BSF

SHILLONG, Nov 27: The Border Security Force personnel deployed at Gumaghat in South West Khasi Hills district seized 5.5 kg of Ganja in a special operation launched while it was being smuggled to Bangladesh.

When the BSF troops observed suspicious movements they immediately rushed to the spot. However, the suspected smuggler fled away taking advantage of dense forest and thick vegetation.

According to the BSF, it is pertinent to mention here that it has always been the endeavour of the border guards to keep a strict vigil and deny any smuggling of psychotropic substances/ rcotics/alcohol to Bangladesh.

The BSF is also seeking the help of Border Guards of Bangladesh in this regard.

The BSF informed that this year it has seized 18,618 bottles liquor and 30.2 kg of ganja at the intertiol border.
