5 Peshawar massacre suspects held

Kabul, January 17: Five people, suspected of involvement in the massacre in the army–run school in Pakistan’s Peshawar, have been arrested in Afghanistan, security officials said on Saturday. The five helped support the assault at the school, reported Pakistan daily The tion citing officials speaking on condition of anonymity, as they were not authorised to brief jourlists about the arrests.  Those arrested – "all foreigners" – were arrested in recent weeks near Afghanistan’s eastern border with Pakistan, they added. The Tehreek–e–Taliban Pakistan claimed responsibility for the December 16 attack on the school, which left over 140 students and teachers dead. (IANS)
