50 illegal liquor shops evicted in Duliajan

DULIAJAN, November 21: After the passage of the 48-hour deadline given to the Exercise Department of Tengakhat by four ethnic organizations mely  Sadou Asom Mottock Yuba Chatra Sanmilan (SAMYCS), All Tai Ahom Students’ Union (ATASU), Chutia Chatra Santha (CCS) and Gorkha Students’ Union (GSU),  almost fifty  illicit liquor shops in Fancy Bazer ,Old Bus Stand, New Bus Stand,16 No.Tili, Thapa Basti and Tipling were evicted.

Bulbul Neog, central information and publicity secretary of SAMYCS, Pranjal Rajknower, publicity secretary of Dibrugarh district committee of ATASU, Jitu Saikia, Dibrugarh district president of CCU and Ajoy Ale, vice-president of Gorkha Students Union, Dibrugarh district committee had given  48 hours time on  December 19 to Kamaluddin Ahmed, Inspector of Tengakhat Exercise Department, for the eviction drive against illegal liquor shops in entire Duliajan and also threatened to launch stir against the department concerned.
