52nd AWWA Day observed Gajraj AWWA fraternity at Tezpur

Tezpur: The 52nd AWWA Day celebrations were held on August 21 and 23 by the Gajraj AWWA fraternity. (AWWA) Army Wives Welfare Association is one of the largest registered NGO of India. It has charted a course of fulfilling a societal obligation, social empowerment and skill building since its inception in 1966.

The organization has been doing yeoman’s service in its assigned and chosen areas of interest. On August 21 in a function wherein 205 widows of ex-serviceman were invited and felicitated by Amanpreet Kaur Sangha, Zonal President of the association on behalf of the Gajraj Corps Tezpur. The function commenced with the registration of the widows followed by a medical camp.

Their grievances were noted for rectification after which a small cultural programme was presented for them. All attendees were felicitated by Zonal President, AWWA. On August 23 seven Veer Naris (widows of battle casualties) and 13 orphan children of ex-servicemen were invited along with the families of serving officers and all ranks of Gajraj Corps in Tezpur. The Veer Naris and Orphans were felicitated in presence of the families of Gajraj Corps. Amanpreet Kaur Sangha, Zonal President Gajraj AWWA in her speech assured the Veer Naris and widows of continuous support.
