52nd  BSF Raising Day celebrated

GUWAHATI, Dec 3: The Guwahati Frontier of Border Security Force (BSF) celebrated its 52nd  Raising Day on Friday with great zeal  at its campus at Patgaon in Guwahati. Colourful events were organised to marked the triumphed journey for more than five decades.

The Border Security Force came into existence on Dec 1, 1965, to guard Intertiol Boundary (IB) on Indo-Bangladesh and Indo-Pak Borders with well-defined peace and war time roles. Guwahati Frontier BSF with its three Sector HQrs at Coochbehar(WB), Falakata(WB) and Dhubri is guarding 508.3 km of Intertiol boundary sharing with Bangladesh.

Sh. Rakesh Aggarwal, Inspector General, BSF Guwahati Frontier, appreciated the efforts made by the troops on the Border in maintaining tranquillity and preventing various border crimes by seizing numerous contraband goods including FICN/Arms/ and apprehending many trans-border crimils. Since the year 2016, BSF Guwahati Frontier has seized approx 91000 cattle and its total seizureis amounting to more than Rs. 62 crore till date. On conclusion of the event, IG, BSF Guwahati Frontier once again wished all members and their families of the Frontier and 1st NDRF and lauded the efforts of all the officers. This was stated in  a press release.
