53rd foundation day of DU observed

Dibrugarh, July 3: The 53rd foundation day of Dibrugarh University (DU) was observed here at Dr Bhupen Hazarika Performing Arts and Study Centre recently. The day’s programme was started with the lighting of a lamp by the Vice- Chancellor (in-charge) DU, Dr Karabi Deka Hazarika. In her brief speech Dr Hazarika stated that the university was the apex body for producing the best human resources. “The success of a university lies in creation of quality human resources. The university has attained today’s status due to contribution and sacrifices of several people,” Dr Hazarika stated. She also called upon the faculties, students and employees to put more efforts for the future development of the university. The function was enthralled by the cultural performances of Sanghita Puzari, Joyshree Buragohain, Kangko Kakoti, Xahitya Pujari, Mitali Gogoi, Anjumoni Gogoi, Akanghya Prapti and Kabyashree, all students of the Performing Arts and Study Centre, DU. A number of faculties, officials and students, including Dean of Students Welfare unit, Dr Jiten Hazarika, president, DU Employees Association, Balin Chandra th attended the function.
