Joysagar, March 31: Sivasagar Police have reportedly canceled 54 nos of arms licenses in the district. Following a Govt. order issued by Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner, Sivasagar Police after scrutiny of these licenses and verifying the arms holders’ social and professiol status, district administration decided to cancel the license with effect from April 1 of this year. Police sources also said that any person who wants to have an Arms License from district authorities can apply freshly and the authorities will issue fresh license only if it was found after verification that the person is really in need of arms. Sources said around 200 people have arms license in Sivasagar district.
