55 teachers felicitated on Teachers' Day in Dhubri

DHUBRI, Sept 5: Around 55 teachers of Dhubri district were felicitated for their outstanding contribution in the field of education on the occasion of the 56th Teachers’ Day at a function held at Bilasipara College auditorium on Tuesday. They were felicitated with xarai, phulam gamosa and a citation by the district high officials.  Speaking on the occasion, Dhubri Additiol Deputy Commissioner Sormen Ali Ahmed called upon the teachers to discuss collectively on dutifulness, discipline and responsibility. “I also appeal to the teachers to be alert and refrain from escaping from responsibility and indulging in immoral acts in order to avoid punishment,”Ahmed added.

 Addressing the function, Dhubri District Information and Public Relation officer, Bikash Sarma said that in India teachers enjoyed high respect and honour in the society. “Teachers should take pledge on this day to follow the ideals of a true teacher and uphold the qualities to give befitting honour to Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishn,” Sarma added. Bilasipara Sub-Divisiol Officer (Civil) Dr. MS Laxmi Priya and president of Dhubri District Sahitya Sabha, Abul Hassan Sheikh also attended and addressed the function. Earlier, welcome address was delivered by Dhubri District Inspector of Schools, Sarju Kumar Jadav.
