55th meet of Bodo Sahitya Sabha begins

Bongaigaon, Jan 22: The 55th session of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha got off a rousing start today at Mugacharan Brahma Memorial field of Virengaon area in Chirang district.

More than 1200 delegates from Nepal, Meghalaya, West Bengal and different places of Assam have participated in three-day session.

The programme started with the iuguration of Maneswar Brahma Memorial delegate house by Rangoura rzary, EM, BTC. The Waren Wari Memorial main gate was iugurated by Riju Kumar Brahma, former Education Director of BTC which was followed iuguration of Rameswar Brahma Memorial Main stage by former Transport Minister Chadan Brahma. Ex MLA Khiren Brahma iugurated the book fair and exhibition.

In the evening, a discussion on the topic “Right to education act and its effect in development of mother language” was conducted by Ex Education director Riju Kr Brahma.

Addressing the gathering Rabi Sankar Borgayari, Education director of BTC said that for a good education a good health is essential.

He also appealed the people for their cooperation in implementing the act for development of Bodo language.

Several noted person including Biswaswar Basumatary, vice president of Bodo Sahitya Sabha delivered speech at the discussion.
