62nd Wildlife Week concludes at Orang tiol Park

TANGLA, Oct 8: The 62nd wildlife week concluded at Rajiv Gandhi Orang tiol Park and Tiger Reserve on Friday.

The concluding day of the programme was attended by noted veteriry surgeon Dr Kushal Sarma, HoD, Surgery, College of Veteriry Science, Khapara. Speaking on the occasion, Sarma stressed the resources the tiol park was endowed with.  He said that the inhabitants in the periphery of the tiol park were the ones who need to keep a vigil and  protect the tiol park. He further said that the people in the periphery of the park were well advanced in the agricultural sector but people of the area needed to educate themselves for building themselves as a human resource. Attending the programme, veteriry American surgeon Dr. Trish Lagoon stressed the need of protecting the forest resources and protecting the endangered one-horned rhinoceros. The programme was also attended by Mangaldoi wildlife divisiol forest officer Sunnydeo Choudhury, wildlife activist Mushabirul Haque, senior jourlist and ture lover ba Kr. Deka,  among many noted citizens of the area.
