63rd tiol Wildlife Week observed

Dibrugarh, Oct 6: tiol Service Scheme (NSS) Digboi College Unit celebrated the 148th Gandhi Jayanti recently at Digboi College with the theme tiol integration and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

The programme was anchored by Rajib Rudra Tariang, Programme Officer, Digboi College Unit. The programme started with tribute to the Father of the tion, Mahatma Gandhi on his 148th birth anniversary by KN Timsi, Vice-Principal of Digboi College, who also iugurated the programme. Md. Mobidul Islam, alumnus of 1965 batch of Digboi College, also paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi and delivered his speech.

Ankita Thakuria, a fifth semester student, also gave her speech on that day. An essay competition was also held among the students on the theme ‘tiol Integration and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’. The entire programme was assisted by  Kishore Haloi and Sampreeti Boruah, both Assistant Programme Officers of the NSS. The press release issued here by the college authority informed that  the  63rd tiol Wildlife Week was also celebrated in the college campus with a quiz competition  carried out among the students on October 3 under the joint auspices of the Department of Zoology, COC, Wildlife Conservation Biology and NSS, Digboi College Unit.

 Kishore Haloi, Assistant Programme Officer of the NSS, Digboi College conducted the prelimiry general round and Rajib Rudra Tariang, Programme Officer, NSS, Digboi College conducted the main round of the quiz. The quiz programme was also assisted by Sampreeti Boruah, Assistant Programme Officer, NSS, Digboi College Unit. The first prize for the quiz competition was bagged by Aquif Suleman, Jayanta Das and Kameswar Prasad Gupta, while  second prize  was won by Kiron Dey and Subham Jaiwal, and third prize went to  Hirak jyoti Borgohain, Bikash Tanti and Bishal Karmakar.
