65 candidates file nomitions for eight constituencies in gaon

GAON (HAIBORGAON), March 22: Total 65 candidates of various parties as well as independent candidates  in eight assembly constituencies of gaon district filed their nomition papers for the second phrase polls.

According to the sources, in Barhampur there are total 10 candidates, in Rupahi eight candidates, in Raha four candidates, in Batradava nine candidates,  in Dhing 12 candidates, in Samaguri five candidates, in gaon Sadar seven candidates and in Kaliabor constituency total nine candidates filed their nomition papers.

Heavyweight Congress candidate Rokibul Hussain, along with thousands of his supporters, filed his nomition papers to the returning officer in the office of the gaon Deputy Commissioner for Samaguri LAC on Tuesday. Following him, the Congress candidates for Rupahi LAC, gaon Sadar LAC, Barhampur LAC, Dhing, Raha and Batradava LAC respectively Md. Nurul Huda, Dr. Durlav Chamua, Suresh Bora, Anuwar Hussain, Sashikanta Das and Goutam Bora filed their nomition papers on Tuesday.

 On the other hand, AIUDF candidates for the constituencies like Dhing, Batradava, Samaguri respectively Samsul Haque, ziruddin Ahmed and Masfur Rahman Chaudhuri filed their nomition papers to their returning officers concerned. Interestingly, in Dhing constituency the AIUDF chief Badaruddin Ajmal had earlier gave the party ticket to former MLA of the constituency Aminul Islam. But soon after announcement of his candidature in the LAC a large numbers of party workers and supporters strongly opposed him and demonstrated against the party chief and claimed immediate change of the candidate in the constituency. The party chief later on changed the candidate and in place of Aminul Islam, gave ticket to Samsul Haque in the constituency. On the other hand, the deprived ticket aspirants of Congress, AGP and AIUDF like former MLA Mazibur Rahman, Rajashree Bora (AGP) and AIUDF leader Mubarak Ali Pathan also filed nomition for the Dhing and Batradava LACs respectively as independent candidates.
