66th Van Mahotsav observed, Seuj Sainik formed

MARGHERITA, July 7: Digboi Forest Division observed 66th Van Mahutsav on Tuesday at Arevat Bhavan, Kherjan, Digboi.

Under the initiative of Digboi Forest Division, Assam First Green Brigade ‘Heuj Sainik’ was formed today with 340 ture activists. Ranjan Kumar Das, Divisiol Forest Officer of Digboi Forest Division, said, “We have formed Forest Protective and Regeneration Committee and Eco Development Committee with 340 ture activists.” The ture activists are fully authorized to look after the forest resources, wildlife sanctuaries and tiol park and have the authority to arrest those who are involved in poaching of wild animals and felling of trees illegally. Puru Gupta, Deputy Commissioner of Tinsukia District, was present as the chief guest .More than 100 different fruit saplings were planted during the 66 th Van Mahutsav programme.
