MANGALDAI, March 19: A team of Dalgaon Police in Darrang district on Sunday, led by Superintendent of Police Sreejith Thiraviam, successfully recovered a large quantity of stolen hair oil hidden in No 5 Baruajhar village under the same police station. According to Inspector Jagadish Sharma, Officer in-charge of Dalgaon police station, acting on input, a total of 674 stolen cartons of hair oil of Bajaj Almond Drops brand were recovered from the back courtyard of one Matlib Ali of the village. However, accused Matlib Ali maged to escape. A truck bearing registration no. AS 11 AC 3725 loaded with 960 cartons of Bajaj Almond Drops from its factory at Gouripur in Kamrup (rural) district reportedly went missing along with its driver Saddam Husain on way to the godown in Guwahati few days back. In this connection, Jalukbari Police registered a case (No. 246 /18) and had raided different places under Dalgaon Police Station, including Daipam, Besimari and Baruajhar.
