69th death anniversary of Samson Sing Engti observed

HAMREN, March 1: The 69th death anniversary of Samson Sing Engti was observed today at Den Arong, Karbi Anglong, which was jointly organized by the Karbi Anglong and North Cachar Hill Autonomous State Demand Committee (KANCHASDCOM), Karbi Student Association (KSA), Karbi Riso Adorbar (KRA), Karbi So Arlo Amei (KARSA) and Karbi Unemployed Association (KUYA). The founder and architect of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council was paid rich tribute by Ajit Timung, president of KANCHASDCOM, along with Sanjoy Rongpi, secretary i/c, SS Engti death anniversary celebration committee. On this occasion, a public meeting was also held where the people of Den Arong area and leaders of several social organizations across Karbi Anglong were present. The dream of Samson Sing Engti for the people of Karbi Anglong would be fulfilled after the hills people of Assam get their political rights as granted in the Constitution of India for creation of autonomous state by implementing Article 244 (A) of the Indian Constitution, said Ajit Timung in the public meeting.
