69th Independence Day celebrated at Bongaigaon Refinery

Bongaigaon, August 17: Bongaigaon Refinery celebrated the 69th Independence Day with great patriotic fervor. Chief Guest,  LW Khongwir, Executive Director hoisted the tiol Flag amidst singing of the tiol Anthem by the school children. Mr. Khongwir inspected the parade put up by the contingents of CISF Unit, Boys and Girls platoons of BGRHS School and DPS, Dhaligaon and Scouts and Guides of DPS Dhaligaon.

In his speech, Khongwir recalled with reverence the sacrifice of the freedom fighters and soldiers and paid respectful homage to the martyrs. He also highlighted the significant achievements and contributions made by Indian Oil in general and Bongaigaon Refinery in particular in various fields.

On the occasion, the Chief Guest presented Pratibha Samman Award to  Karu Ram Das, Senior Engineering Assistant, Grade-IX of PN- OM&S Department and Samuhik Upalabdhi Puraskar to a team of Medical Department comprised of Dr. Bhaskar Ojah, ACMO and  DK Ghosh, Dy Mager  (A&W) for their excellent performance in respective fields. In the program, toppers and rank holders of DPS Dhaligaon and BGRHS School in Class XII 2015 Board Exam were also conferred with awards. Along with this, five running trophies and five special awards and the overall championship and runners-up trophies for inter departmental tourments 2014-15 were also presented to the employees and various departments.

A demonstration on weapon handling drill by CISF jawans, patriotic songs by students and distribution of food items to the inmates of Santipara Leprosy Home & Hospital, Kajalgaon; Missiories of Charity (Mother Teresa), Chapaguri and Anda Marg Children Home, New Bongaigaon were some other programs of the celebration, said a press release.
