7 Bn SSB Mangaldoi celebrates 68th Republic Day

KALAIGAON, Jan 29: The 37th BN, SSB Mangaldoi celebrated the 68th Republic Day with full gusto and colour at the Battalion Headquarters and its border outposts. 

This year, to boost the morale of troops, all senior officials moved to border to celebrate Republic Day with the troops and to pay respect to the border villagers, the gaon burahs (GBs) were invited to hoist the tricolor in BOPs. The GBs received a letter of appreciation from the Commandant for their contribution in facilitating discharge of duties by Border Force personnel. School children from SSB-adopted schools along with their teachers and guardians came in large numbers to participate in the celebration. On the occasion, a marathon was also organized at BOP Samrang under Dimakuchi Police Station. The winners of the marathon were awarded certificates by Commandant Shiv Gopal Shukla.

A brief workshop on Mudra scheme of the Central Government was also conducted to apprise the villagers about benefits of the samescheme.

Shiv Gopal Shukla, Commandant, spoke about the great sacrifices of the freedom fighters to attain Independence and exhorted the SSB personnel to continue their duties in true SSB tradition of service, security and brotherhood.  Neeraj Chaudhary, Deputy Commandant, and other officers from the Battalion as well as from the Sector HQ were present on the occasion.
