75th birthday of Padadhikaar Bhabendranath Deka

RANGIA, May 1: “Media must create awareness among the public of the society.  At present it is the sole vigil as the democracy’s forth pillar to monitor the developments,” said Padadhikaar of Sankardev Sangha, Chancellor of Sankardev University and also the former president of Rangia Press Club, Bhabendranath Deka on the occasion of his 75th birthday celebration organized centrally by Rangia Press Club here at Rangia Raijmel Krishak Swahid Bhavan premises.

 While referring to the present day socio-cultural strata of the State, Deka, who was also the former Principal of Rangia College, said that all religions preached love and peace to form a violence-free society.  He further said that there were two major problems inAssam – foreigners’ infiltration and religious conversion.

 Earlier, Dr. Bhubaneswar Deka, former president of Kamrup Zila Sahitya Sabha, Dr. PP Mahanta, Principal of Rangia TT College,  and Dharmeswar Das, AASU central committee office secretary, reflected on the life of the Padadhikaar.
