8 Assam players in Indian Karate team

GUWAHATI, May 18: Eight players and three officials from Assam have been selected in the Indian team for the 11th WKF World Youth Cup Karate Championship. The competition would be held at Umag, Croatia from July 2. The eight players who are selected in the Indian team are Hemphu Bongjang, Saurav Kumar Gogoi, Nilav Nayan Thakuria, Ayushman Pachani, Ishita Kashyap, Akansha Konwar, Punit Jakhwal and Ashis Talukdar. Nagen Bongjang, the secretary of (UKAA), has been selected as Coach while Sunil Kumar Gogoi and Ramen Chakraborty will accompany the team as officials.
