80 solar lights distributed by Assam Rifles

MARGHERITA, April 27: In the first phase of Clean Energy Drive, 80 solar lights were distributed by Assam Rifles as a part of Military Civic Action programme in the presence of EAC F Miming and other civil administration officials of Margherita. The solar lights were distributed to the remote villages of Ngoiting and Phangsum as a Samaritan measure for the uplift of the local population. The small yet powerful solar lights have the capability to provide light for five days on single charge and they are a necessity in these remote areas where electricity is yet to be provided.
