85th foundation day of nursing school observed

SILCHAR, Jan 12: The staff and hospital authorities of Siva Sundari ri Shikshashram and Ante-tal Clinic in association with Siva Sundari ri Shikshashram School of Nursing observed the 85th foundation day of the heath establishment on the premises of the hospital on Monday. A cultural program was also held on the occasion. Dr. Chandrashekhar Das, Monojendra Shyam and Anshu Kumar Roy among others also took part in a discussion to discuss the issues plaguing women and child health care in the valley. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Chandrashekhar Das said lack of awareness about hygiene and proper sanitation facilities is a major factor affecting women healthcare in the valley. Besides, many health problems of   women are closely related to or exacerbated by high levels of fertility. Numerous pregncies and closely spaced births erode a mother’s nutritiol status, which can negatively affect her health. Materl deaths are also very high.
