8th place to Gunjanan, laurels to Demow

DEMOW, May 25: Gunjanan Boruah of Dopani High School of Dopani near Demow in Sivasagar district brought laurels to the area by securing the 8th place in the HSLC-2018 examination. A resident of Deodubi village Gunjanan obtained 586 marks with a percentage of 97.6. He secured 100 marks in general mathematics, general science and advanced mathematics. He hails from a poor family and his father has a small pan shop. The students and teachers of the area took out a procession with Gunjanan Boruah from his residence to the school. Headmistress of Dopani High School Premashree Hensua felicitated Gunjanan Boruah with a gamosa and a cake. Thereafter the Demow unit of the All Assam Students Union, Asomiya Yuba Mancha and other local organizations felicitated Gunjanan Boruah. Talking to this correspondent, Gunjanan Boruah said that before the Test examination he studied for 3 to 4 hours and after the Test exam he studied for 8 to 12 hours. He wants to become an administrative Officer.
