AAA announces life membership to Hima

GUWAHATI, July 14: Assam Athletic Association (AAA) announced life membership to sprinter Hima Das who scripted history by winning gold medal in the women 400m at World U20 Athletic championship in Finland on Thursday. A team of Assam Athletic Association lead by Rockybul Hussain, the president of the organization, visited Hima’s house at Dhing today to hand over the cash award of Rs 2 lakh which the association was announced yesterday. During this visit Rockybu Hussain announced the decision of Assam Athletic Association to award life membership to Hima. Rockybul, who is also the secretary of Assam Olympic Association (AOA), today handed over another cash incentive of Rs 2 lakh to Hima’s family member which was announced by the Assam Olympic Association on Friday. The others visited Hima’s house with Rockybul were Pradip Nunisa (AAA official), Raj Kakoti, Bishnu Ram Nunisa, Jehirul Haque and Kalyan Gogoi (All are executive members of AOA).
