AABYSF bandh partial in Sivasagar

SIVASAGAR, June 17: Normal life was partially disrupted due to the 12-hour Assam bandh called by the All Assam Bengali Youth Students’ Federation (AABYSF) on Wednesday protesting harassment to Hindu Bengalis in the me of NRC update. The bandh started from 5 am. Later in the day, some shops opened and vehicular movement was also seen. The student body alleged that both the Congress and BJP had failed to keep their commitment to give citizenship to all Hindu-Bengali migrants living in Assam.
