AAGSU calls Udalguri bandh

UDALGURI, August 28:  The Udalguri district committee of All Assam Gorkha Students’ Union (AAGSU)  has called a 12-hour Udalguri district bandh on September 1 in protest against alleged police iction over bbing the culprits who attempted to kidp a person.  

An AAGSU  leader said that a local businessman of Dhansirighat lbari village here escaped somehow from the clutches of some miscreants when they attempted to kidp him while he was on the way to his home on August 21 from his business establishment  at Silbari. One kidpper was bbed by the locals and was handed over to police after he was thrashed by the people. However, other kidppers of the group maged to escape.

The AAGSU leader alleged that police have so far taken no steps to b the other culprits involved in the incident.  Shanta Sirpali, publicity secretary of Udalguri district committee of AAGSU has appealed the people of the district to make the bandh a success.
