AAGSU demands Nepali department in Tangla College

TANGLA, March 22: All Assam Gorkha Students’ Union Tangla regiol unit held a meeting at Kukurakata Primary School premises on the outskirts of Tangla recently.  The meeting, which was chaired by Tarath Upadhaya, president of Tangla unit, was attended by nearly 500 people of the Gorkha community. Intellectuals and eminent persolities of the district who participated in the meeting discussed various issues of the Gorkha community. The students’ body vehemently condemned the recent Silapathar incident.  The members also took the resolution to appeal to the State Government for introduction of Nepali literature department in Tangla College and introduction of Nepali MIL in schools which have minimum 15 per cent Gorkha students.
