AAK conference concludes

Itagar, Nov 14: The two-day long Adi Agom Kebang (AAK) conference concluded on a positive note at Pasighat in East Siang district on Sunday with Adi language loving people from all sections of the society taking part to promote its language.  A new executive body was also constituted in the summit while it was decided that in the greater interest of Adi literature, textbooks in Adi language would also be introduced as third language in schools, a communiqué informed here today.  

Prominent poet and writers Kaling Borang and Bodong Yirang recited self composed poems and traditiol folklores. Other highlights of the day were the Adi Literary Council declaring its 10 point vision documents.  Borang was entrusted to hold the post of president, while prominent leader Tajing Taki was appointed as general secretary unimously. Seven action-oriented joint secretaries were also appointed to lead the current and future generations Adi inhabited districts like Siang, East, Upper, West Siang, Dibang Valley and Lohit. President Borang in his address while seeking wholehearted cooperation from every individual of the Adi society said, “Nobody can do everything, but everybody can do something. We must do our part to keep the momentum of our discussions moving forward in a positive and productive manner.”  “Budding poets and writers must be encouraged by all of us in sustaining our indigenous language,” he asserted adding, the two-day long discussion would definitely serve as a blueprint for future building in the field of literature, the communiqué added.
