AAKRSU general body meeting held

Tezpur, June 4: A general body meeting of All Assam Koch Rajbongshi Students’ Union (AAKRSU) was held on Monday here at the Tezpur District Office premises with Sonitpur district AAKRSU president Ashini Das in the chair. During the meeting, Lakshi Baruah was appointed as president of Sonitpur district Mahila Koch Rajbongshi Samity in presence of central publicity secretary of Chilarai Sena Bikram Das, publicity secretary of Sonitpur AAKRSU Ratul Narayan Koch, AAKRSU advisor Jyoti Prasad Baruah among others.

Addressing the meeting as a chief guest, central chief advisor of AAKRSU Dr Parashmoni Singha said that the Koch Rajbongshi community has been struggling for a long period of 40 years since Nehru era and the present government’s failure of not granting ST status to Koch Rajbongshis in Assam is condemnable.
