Aalo-Pasighat HT line likely to be commissioned soon

Itagar, Feb 27: The 132 KV Aalo-Pasighat High Tension (HT) line is likely to be commissioned soon, which will meet the power needs of the East Siang district, said Chairman of State Electricity Regulatory Commission (SERC), Raghuth Prasad Singh.

Singh disclosed it during a consultative meeting with East Siang Deputy Commissioner Tamio Tatak and the departmental engineers in the DC’s office chamber recently, an official release informed here today.

Earlier, Singh, along with Secretary Rakesh Kumar, inspected the 132/33kv switchyard at Dura Korong on Friday after inspecting the HT line from Aalo to Pasighat.

Secretary Kumar briefed on Electricity Supply Code (ESC), Standard of Performance (SoP) and Consumer Grievances and Redressal Forum (CG&RF), and stressed for effective implementation of the same with the help of the district administration. Deputy Commissioner Tatak said that illegal tapping of power from overhead electricity line is one of the main causes of power shortage, and said that stringent action must be taken against power theft. Tatak urged the SERC for lower tariff for rural consumers so that poor families in interior villages can light up their houses. SE (Power) Duyu Tacho urged the Commission to make the process for house electricity connection easier as majority of the villagers do not possess all the required documents, the release added.
