AAMSU activists stage blockade

DHUBRI, Feb 5: Hundreds of people along with activists of All Assam Minority Students’ Union (AAMSU) staged blockade on NH-31 at Panbari of Dhubri district on Monday in protest against the killing of a BA student on Sunday night. Normal traffic movement was totally paralyzed due to blockade from 9am to 12am due to which hundreds of vehicles were stranded. Blockade was withdrawn when police arrived at the protest site and assured to b the culprit soon. Protesters also demanded immediate arrest of the miscreants involved in the killing and compensation of Rs 20 lakh to the family living below the poverty line. Locals informed that Abdul Karim, a resident of Rangamati Hills area of Dhubri district, was a student of BA fourth semester in Rangamati College who used to run a grocery shop in Alomganj market.
