FROM OUR CORRESPONDENT

Itagar, Feb 14: The All Aruchal Pradesh Labour Union (AAPLU) on Saturday submitted a memorandum to Union minister of state for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju for posting of permanent labour secretary.

The memorandum submitted by AAPLU president Da Tadu at union ministe’s  North Block, Delhi office also appealed inclusion of AAPLU president as DPC member and his inclusion in DPC meetings, and head counting of casual and WC employees under various departments.

Tadu also pointed out that due to frequent transfer or change of labour secretary, different schemes and welfare activities are not being implemented properly thus hampering the works of the department. It also directly affects the labour welfare activities including enforcement of labour law, he added.

He opined that the present labour commissioner may be given the additiol charge of the labour secretary as done in other states which shall be in the greater interest of the labour force of the state.

Alleging that many government departments are using excess and even bogus WC which is directly creating heavy losses to state exchequer the union said that strict head counting system should be implemented in every department.
