Dhekiajuli, March 26: The 12-hour Assam bandh from 5 am to 5 pm called by the All Adivasi Students’ Association of Assam (AASAA), passed off peacefully in Dhekiajuli subdivision on Monday. The bandh was called protest against the State Government’s iction to fulfil their long-standing demands increasing daily wages of tea labourers to Rs 350, issuing land pattas to the landless tea garden workers and granting ST status to the tea community people. In Dhekiajuli subdivision, all the business establishments, educatiol institutions, banks and government as well as private offices were completely closed. No untoward incident was reported.
