AASAA protest in Dhekiajuli over wage agreement

DHEKIAJULI, March 21: About 30 AASAA activists under the leadership of Markas Toppo, the publicity secretary of Dhekiajuli unit AASAA staged a protest  in front of the ACMS office of Borsola branch, Dhekiajuli on Saturday.

The AASAA activists gathered in front of the ACMS office and started shouting slogans  against Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi,   Bhima nda Tanti, Prithviraj Majhi, Pawan Sing Ghatowar and   proprietors of tea gardens. The main demands of the AASAA activists were wage revision and scrapping of the recent deed of agreement made by Bhima nda Tanti and the tea company owners. The protesters burnt the agreement copy in front of the ACMS building.

Markas Toppo said that the agitation would continue till their demands were accepted by ACMS and the tea company owners. AASAA leaders said that the ACMS and the tea company owners should   take the opinion of the tea garden workers before filizing the latest deed of agreement.  The AASAA activists declared that their agitation programme would continue till March 24.
