AASAA stages NH blockade

TINSUKIA, April 7: The All Adivasi Students' Association of Assam (AASAA) on Monday staged a blockade on the NH-37 at Panitola here, demanding an increase in the daily wages of tea workers. AASAA office-bearers alleged that though the minimum wages should be Rs 169, tea workers were being paid Rs 94 only. They have demanded to increase the wages to Rs 330. The activists of the AASAA also shouted slogans against Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, ACMS president Bhimanda Tanti, former Union Minister Pawan Singh Ghatowar and Chabua MLA Raju Sahu.
