Aastha Foundation launches skill development training

Silchar, Aug 18: The well known NGO Aastha Foundation of this town in collaboration with ONGC Cachar Forward Base has started its skill development training programme on ‘readymade garment’ at Darmikhal of Dholai constituency and ga Bazar of Soi constituency. A total number of 48 female candidates will be imparted training for three months, according to a member of the NGO. The training programme was iugurated in the presence of Arb Chakraborty, founder secretary, Aastha Foundation, ONGC officials who included Panner Salvam, S K Barman and Amalendu Laskar, members of Bhuvan View Club, Ujjal Sankar Roy, Uttam Paul and Joyutush Roy as well as the members of ga Bazar centre.

 It is at the call of Prime Minister rendra Modi after assuming the responsibility as the head of the NDA Government in Delhi that various NGOs have come forward in the country to take up skill development programmes on their own. As rendra Modi has rightly pointed out that skill development is an essential parameter for the overall socio-economic change both in the urban and rural areas. It is through this that larger scope of employment opportunities can be created to absorb the growing number of unemployed youths. Skill development, in fact, leads to individual drive and initiative to create something new with lot of employment potential. It is with this objective that skill development is being encouraged by NGOs in coordition with the Centre and the state in diverse areas like jute, handicraft, handloom, bamboo, cane, textile, coffee and rubber among others. Aastha Foundation has quite appropriately laid stress on skill development and it plans to diversify the areas. The skill development programme was iugurated on August 16 last.
