AASU declares three-phase agitation

TINSUKIA, March 16: The Tinsukia district committee of AASU declared a serious of agitation programmes in protest against the alleged lackadaisical attitude of the State Government to arrest the kingpin of Silapathar incident, Subodh Biswas of NBBUSS.
At a press meet organized by AASU and being attended by 17 other organizations, a series of three-phase agitation was announced with rail blockade on March 18 followed by black flag demonstration on March 20 and mass rally on March 21. Addressing the press meet, Dipankar Sonowal and Monoram Borah, central executives of AASU termed Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal as ‘villain’ having nexus with RSS and BJP, and alleged that he had abetted in Subodh Biswas’ escape from Silapthar. The press meet was held with Md Tariq, the district president of AASU, in the chair.
