AASU demands immediate solution to various problems by OIL

DULIAJAN, September 7:  All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) Duliajan Regiol Committee president Rubul Gogoi and general secretary Utpal Handique, in a press statement on Monday, said that even after demanding a solution to various problems, OIL Duliajan had not responded to those demands. They pointed out problems like dilapidated condition of roads, unhygienic drains and no fincial assistance to educatiol institutions by OIL. They also alleged that former CMD, SK Srivastav, after taking charge had announced that within his service tenure he would make Duliajan town a modern OIL town but even after completion of his service, the work was incomplete. The AASU leaders said that  OIL had provided Rs 25 crore to PWD department to repair the main road with draige facility from Tipling Tili to Duliajan Railway Station and had been given assurance by contractors of PWD to complete the work within 18 months. But the road was yet to be completed. They also demanded construction of the road from 16 no.Tili to Hukuta Chariali main road soon, besides various other demands.
