AASU demands release of senior jourlist

Golaghat, December 8: Activists of AASU Golaghat committee staged a protest near the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Monday against a case registered against a noted writer and senior jourlist of Golaghat district. Sources alleged that businessman Sanjoy Ghosh and Monoj Ghosh lodged a complaint against Keshab Saikia, along with two members of Golaghat AASU, at Golaghat police station. Last night, police officials took Keshab Saikia to Golaghat police station. This news spread among the people of Golaghat. AASU activists came out on the road and protested by burning tyres at Bezbaruah traffic point. They demanded release of Saikia immediately.
