AASU felicitates meritorious students in Demow

DEMOW, June 19: The All Assam Students’ Union (AASU), Demow Regiol Committee, had organized a felicitation programme in Demow Higher Secondary School on Sunday where 130 meritorious students of Demow and its surroundings area were felicitated for having excelled in the HSLC and HS fil exam, 2016.

A general meeting was organized presided over by Parag Saikia. Samiran Phukan, district secretary of All Assam Students’ Union(AASU) iugurated the felicitation programme. Barakha Khatiwara, a student of Demow Lambudar Borgohain Sankardev School who secured the 8th position, Akhim Ranjan Borah of Demow Lambudar Borgohain Sankardev School who secured 16th position and Romin Gogoi of St. Mary’s School who secured 11th position in the HSLC examition were felicitated with a certificate and book.

Humen Gogoi, general secretary of Demow Regiol Committee anchored the felicitation programme. Dr. Bipul Gogoi, Assistant Professor of Sociology in Demow College was present in the programme as a chief guest. He congratulated and encouraged all the students for their bright future.

In the felicitation programme, Mril Gogoi, teacher of Demow Higher Secondary School, Manju Ali, who is a player as well as coach of Demow Handball Club, Lebanus Kujur, Father of St. Mary’s School, Maya Bharalua, Headmistress of Demow Lambudar Borgohain Sankardev School, Ranju Phukan, Principal of HCB Model English School, Montu Sahu and Partha Barua, sub-division secretary along with other dignitaries were present.
