AASU to observe Swahid Divas on January 18

DULIAJAN, January 10: Duliajan Anchalik Chatra Santha will observe Swahid Divas on January 18 at Swahid Bedi near the OIL industrial area, Duliajan in memory of four martyrs mely Nripen Borah, Kumud Gogoi, Ajit Neog and gen Deka who lost their lives on January 18, 1980 during the oil blockade programme as part of the Assam Agitation. This year Duliajan AASU will observe the 36th Swahid Divas on January 18 at the Swahid Bedi near the site of OIL industrial area, Duliajan. As per programme, flag hoisting will be done by Rubul Gogoi, president of Duliajan AASU, swahid tarpan by the members of the martyrs’ families, and release of a souvenir. In the programme, Purkanta Hazarika, former Principal of Duliajan College, Dr Samujjal Bhattacharya, chief advisor of AASU,  Dr Surndra th Gogoi, Principal (in-charge) of Duliajan College, Dipankar Kumar th and Lurin Jyoti Gogoi , president and  general secretary of AASU central committee, Anil Gogoi, organizing secretary of AASU central committee  along with many dignities will attend the programme.
