AATSU Demand Chief Minister Pema Khandu For Better Tourism Course

ITANAGAR: The All Arunachal Tourism Students Union (AATSU) in a memorandum submitted to Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Thursday demanded the upgradation of the tourism course at the Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU), job creation, education schemes and loans and infrastructure development in the State. The union stated that the upgradation of the tourism course is much needed for the proper pursuance of the requisite degree. Students often pursue Masters and Post Graduation courses in tourism in other States as the State lacks the requisite course structure, the union pointed out.

It said that half of the districts of the State don’t have enough District Tourism Officer (DTO), Tourism Information Officer (TIO) and thus demanded recruiting of officers in each district.

The union also asked for the regularization of RMSA tourism teachers, creation of new tourism teacher posts for secondary and higher secondary schools in the State, creation of Tourist Police Force (TPF) quota for unemployed tourism students and recruitment of tourism professional students only for Group-C posts and interview to be conducted through proper advertisement.

Further, the union also stressed on the education schemes and loans for the students pursuing tourism courses.
