AAU pass-outs to be absorbed in soil health card jobs

JORHAT, Sept 9: As per initiative of the Government of India to boost the agricultural sector and to make available soil health cards throughout the country, from now on fourth year students who have not got jobs will be absorbed in soil health card jobs for making surveys and grading the  issue of soil health cards, and  following their performance they will be inducted into government services throughout the State, said Dr Kamal Mallav Bujarbaruah while addressing the newcomers at a freshers’ social programme held at the Dr MC Das Memorial Auditorium at Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat campus on Saturday.

Welcoming the freshers from the four colleges - College of Agriculture, College of Community Sciences, College of Sericulture and College of Horticulture, the Vice-Chancellor said that the university had experienced people who could groom the students to excel in life and become good citizens. “Dreams help to fulfil goals, so try to dream in order to fulfil you aim in life,” Dr KM Bujarbaruah told the students.

He added, “The whole world is looking at India as India is a very young country like Chi. We have close to 700 billion people less than 35 years of age. Our youth population is much more than the total population of America and much more than the population of many other countries, so we are looking at you to become diamonds in a new India.”

Dr gandra Singh, Dean from the College of Community Sciences, urges upon the freshers to follow the basic rules of life and become good and successful individuals. “ Rules are not meant to be broken, rules are meant to be followed, so we must respect the rules which have been framed. There has to be a high sense of discipline and meticulous work culture, with good civic sense and courtesy towards our fellow men,” he said.    Dr Dipti Kumar Bora, Director Research, AAU, and Arpon Saikia, Registrar, AAU, called upon the freshers to follow rules and assured them ragging was a thing of the past and no ragging would take place in the university campus.
