GUWAHATI, April 9: Abahani Dhaka FC, today arrived in the city to play their AFC Cup tie against Aizawl FC. The match will be held at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium on Wednesday.
Both Aizawl and Abahani are in group ‘ E’ and already played two group league matches but failed to open their account. However better goal difference helped Abahani to stay in the third place in 4-team points table and Aizawl are in fourth place. Bengaluru FC and New Radiant SC of Maldives are now in 1st and 2nd position in the points table.
Like Abahani, Aizawl FC too landed in the city today after playing quarter fil in super cup in Bhubaneswar on Sunday. They lost the match to East Bengal by a solitary goal.
It will be the second home game for Aizawl FC in the competition. Earlier in the last week they faced Bengaluru FC at the same venue but Northeast outfit lost the tie 1-3.
