ABBYSF alleges torture on Bengali Hindus

TANGLA, Feb 9: Normal life was thrown out of gear as commercial establishments including banks and shops were completely shutdown in the town from dawn to dusk on Thursday. The All BTC Bengali Youth Students’ Federation had called for a 24-hour shutdown of shops and other establishments in the town in protest of the arrest of three people who were declared as Bangladeshi tiols by the Foreigners Tribul, Udalguri.

As per information, on February 7 a team of special police picked up Krish Das (36) and two women Minku Das (30) and Chitrabala Das (42) who are inhabitants of Rupakhat village under Tangla PS, after they were declared Bangladeshi tiols by the Foreigners Tribul, Udalguri. In a press statement, the All BTC Bengali Youth Students’ Federation, Udalguri district committee said despite the fact that the three people had all valid documents to prove their tiolity, they had been arrested in the me of Bangladeshi citizens. The students’ body had termed the act as violation of human rights. The chief advisor of the students’ body, Shymal Sarkar alleged that torture had been meted out to Bengali Hindus by the saffron party in detention camps in the me of Bangladeshi citizens.

The students' body exhorted the government to immediately release the three people at the earliest. The students’ body also threatened to launch a democratic protest if their voices were not heard.
