Abductor bbed in West Garo Hills

SHILLONG, Dec 16: Police today arrested another person involved in the abduction of one Zafar Ali (55) of Pedaldoba village in Garo Hills who was kidpped on December 14. Welson Sangma (19) Dobok Jakolgre village in West Garo Hills district has been arrested today. According to police, based on his statement search is going on to recover the weapon and arrest another kidpper. It may be noted that on Tuesday, police had arrested four persons for their involvement in the abduction.
In another incident police arrested one Nurul Islam Akond (30) of Ujan Bojara under Hazirhat police station, South Salmara district Dhubri Assam has been arrested today in Phulbari. Police said that Nurul is the leader of a murder/kidpping gang of around 15 members. “Their modus operandi is to kidp either from Phulbari-Tikrikilla and Assam and keep the victim in Meghalaya,” police informed.
